We are so excited to announce that Science World has been named as a recipient of the 2015 Nature’s Path Gardens for Good grant! The program, now in its sixth year, helps put organic community gardens where they will serve those who need them most. Science World will receive a $15,000 cash grant for our community garden project from Nature’s Path, as well as technical design and production mentorship provided by Rodale’s Organic Life magazine.
Science World’s application was selected out of 120 entries from non-profit organizations and among nine other finalists who earned the most public support by online votes!
The grant will go towards enhancing our garden in the Ken Spencer Science Park, allowing us to expand our ability to grow nutritious, local food that will help educate Vancouverites about what they can grow in their own backyards, as well as provide community kitchens in the Downtown Eastside with healthy and nutritious food.
We could not be more thrilled to partner with Nature’s Path to enhance our garden and our ability to educate, inspire and engage the community about the importance of local food and sustainable practices.
