SWEET: Real Eyes Realize Real Lies

Over 250 visitors came out to Science World on the night of April 6 to have their worlds flipped upside down at the teen only SWEET event: Real Eyes Realize Real Lies!

Visitors had their minds blown in two live Illusions shows, one from guest Illusionist Brian Anderson, who seemed to conjure a lemon, lime, kiwi and a potato out of nothing but the fabric of space-time contained in tiny cups. Oh, and he managed to hammer a 4 inch nail into his nose. Yeah, no big deal.

As always, the Teen Advisory Group (TAG Team) organized the theme and activities of the night. They created and led activities that challenged our perceived reality, some of which guests could take home with them – like an illusion that allowed visitors to create hologram-like images of themselves to appear above their phones.

The night ended with a ballot draw. Three people walked home with prizes, which included beaker mugs and a 3D printed hand and its Instagram account (@3dprintedlefthand). The grand prize winner of the night went home with four free Science World passes. Four more passes were won by a visitor from Gladwell Secondary for the final survey draw!

All in all, it was a crazy night. These real eyes realized real lies! Check out the rest of photos from the night here. We hope to see you at our next event on June 29th!
