Forest Stories
Forest Stories will introduce students to the plant biodiversity in local B.C. forests, while working collaboratively to develop a story about how plants and animals react when faced with extreme weather events.
Through stories, students will explore the interactions within forest ecosystems, be introduced to First People’s knowledge and learn the importance of showing gratitude to our planet, and explore how local plants and animals behave in different seasons and face extreme weather. Students will then build their storytelling skills through the creation of group stories featuring keystone forest species dealing with extreme weather event, like floods, wildfires, or droughts.
