How can I become a Member?
You can purchase a Membership on our website here.
Please note: Science World does NOT sell Memberships through any third party organizations. Please beware of fraudulent offers from online vendors or social media users.
How long will it take to activate my Membership?
Your Membership begins on the day of purchase.
Does the whole family have to be present to set the Membership up?
No, they do not. We can sign them up without them needing to be present. They can take their photos for their Membership card on their next visit.
Who can go on a Family Membership?
A Family Membership can be any two adults and up to four children (depending on family membership type) living in the same household.
Can I add extra people to my Membership?
You are permitted one extra adult/senior add-on for a Couple Membership, up to two additional adult/senior on Family – 2 Children Membership, and two extra people (child/youth/senior/adult) on a Family – 4 Children Membership.
Can I do an add-on at a later date?
Yes, you can. Add-ons are pro-rated (min.$25).
What relationship status do adults have to have to be on a Couple Membership or Family Membership?
The adults can have any relationship (ie: mother-daughter, friends, spouses, sisters etc.).
But please note that if two friends or siblings go on the Membership, their spouses are not eligible to be added as add-ons.
Can someone else use my Membership card, or is only the person on the card allowed to use it?
All Science World Memberships are non-transferable and only the person listed on the card can use the card. Members who do not adhere to this policy are at risk of having their Memberships cancelled without refund.
Please note: Staff reserves the right to request photo ID of the Membership holder.
I know children 2 and under are free, so what happens when my child turns 3 years old?
When your child turns 3 years old you will be required to upgrade your Membership to cover that child for a pro-rated fee (min. $25).
When will my Membership expire?
Your Membership always expires at the end of the month the following year for 1-year Memberships or in two years for 2-year Memberships.
When do I get my Membership card?
You can get your Membership card anytime during our regular hours of operation, and your card is printed right away at our Membership counter.
How many guest passes do I get?
You will get one guest pass for a 1-year Membership, and two guest passes for a 2-year Membership. The passes are physical coupons that are the size of a standard business card.
What happens if I lose my guest pass(s)?
Unfortunately, we cannot replace any misplaced guest passes. Please make sure you keep your passes in a safe place.
Where do I check-in when I visit Science World?
To check-in, you will line-up in the Science World Members line, which is located at the end of our Admissions counter.
What happens if I misplaced my Membership card?
If you have misplaced your Membership card, we can issue a replacement for a fee of $1 plus tax per card.
What happens if I forgot to bring my Membership card?
If you forgot to bring your Membership card with you, we can search your name in our database using a piece of I.D. with your name.
When Can I Visit Science World?
Science World is typically open 7 days a week from 10 am — 5pm and ready to ignite curiosity and wonder through our galleries and exhibits for our valued Members. As a Member, you can enjoy early access to the dome at 9:30am every day! Read through our health and safety guidelines to learn what to expect during your visit to the dome.
By supporting your local science centre through the purchase of a Membership, you can receive free admission to other science centres and museums worldwide through the ASTC Travel Passport Program and CASC Reciprocal Admission Agreement. Some restrictions may apply.
ASTC Reciprocal Admission Restrictions:
As a member of an institution that participates in the ASTC Travel Passport Program, you are eligible for benefits such as free General Admission when you travel outside your local area to other participating institutions.
These benefits DO NOT include free or discounted admission to special exhibits, planetarium, and large-screen theatre presentations, nor do they include museum store discounts and other benefits associated with museum membership unless otherwise stated.

CASC Reciprocal Admission Restrictions:
The reciprocal agreement entitles science centres and museum membership holders to General Admission (at no addition cost) when they visit other participating institutions across Canada.
To benefit from the reciprocal admission agreement at a participating science centre or museum, the consumer must live more than 150km from the centre they wish to visit. The Admissions staff reserve the right to request photo ID and proof of residence for the agreement to apply.

Who can I take with me for free?
Each participating science centre or museum has its own membership structure. For example, some family memberships consist of 2 adults and 2 children while others consist of 2 adults and 4 children.

As a member, you can enjoy special member pricing for admission to select programs, workshops, and select world-class feature exhibitions.
Summer Camp registration is only available online. Members receive specialty rates as well as early registration to our summer camps. Camp spaces are limited; membership does not guarantee a spot.
Here's how you can access your member’s rate online:
- Create your online member account. You'll need your membership’s primary contact’s last name, postal code, and membership number.
- If you already have a member account, please sign in before you book your visit to access member rates.
- Online registration and member rates are only available for those named on the membership account.
