BC Green Games is proud to welcome a new mentor! A big thank you to the Invasive Species Council of British Columbia (ISCBC) for offering to work with the BC Green Games as a mentor organization for schools wishing to take on action projects which tackle invasive species in their communities. The Council’s Education Coordinator, Sue Staniforth, can support teachers directly with resources, ideas and project planning tools and can link schools to regional experts.

The ISCBC is a registered charity working to prevent the introduction and spread of invasive species in BC. The Council's main goals are:

  • To educate the public and professionals about invasive species and their risk to ecosystems and economies,
  • To coordinate and fund research related to invasive species,
  • To undertake and support actions that improve the health of BC’s natural ecosystems.

Its members are involved in all aspects of invasive species management, with the main focus on invasive plants.
